Dialogue gap-fills
Students can also use their audio CDs for extra listening practice. Once a given episode has been covered in class, students can further practise their listening skills both inside or outside of class, online. Certain episodes have gaps in a selected portion of the dialogue. Students listen to their CDs and try to fill in the blanks, and with the click of a button, their answers are checked immediately online.

'Missing' Episodes'
Jason's World & Judy's World each have one or two 'missing' episode(s) relating events which take place between episodes which occur on their audio CD. These 'missing' episodes include a variety of vocabulary and comprehension exercises, as described below:
|
Introduction to New Vocabulary
Each 'missing' episode begins with an introductory vocabulary exercise in which the target vocabulary is presented in a sentence in context. Students must read the context and choose from among three possible definitions to define the new word.
|
New Vocabulary - Practice Exercises
Once the vocabulary has been introduced, it needs to be reviewed before the students begin the episode. The review takes the form of a gap-fill exercise in which students are supplied with gapped sentences in context and a list of words. Students must choose the appropriate word to fill in the blanks in the sentence given.
|
The Scripts
At this point in time, the online 'missing' episodes for the soap operas are availabe in script form for the students to read. In the future, they will be available as online audio files. Presently, the students can view the dialogue in document form or as a web page.
|
Comprehension Exercises
Once the students have finished reading the script, there are a series of questions available in online exercises to give feedback on their comprehension of the events in the story.
|
New Vocabulary - Review Exercises
After reading the script and completing comprehension questions, a final exercise (Jason's World) or final exercises (Judy's World) are available to review the vocabulary students have become familiar with through the introductory and practice vocabulary exercises, as well as through the text of the story itself.
